Why grow plants indoors?

And why not put your plants in a Burley Clay Pottery pot!

We love plants at Burley Clay Pottery! It doesn’t matter how big or small, whether it hangs and drapes, or stands up straight and tall; Burley Clay pots can handle almost any plant of any size. There are lots of plants that can be grown inside.

Do you like to cook? Herbs grow very nicely in the kitchen and there is nothing like adding fresh herbs to your favorite recipe. Basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, chives, mint, cilantro, and parsley are some of the easiest herbs to grow in your kitchen window or under a grow light. Croistini wouldn’t taste right without basil nor would pizza without oregano. Rosemary and thyme are great herbs for chicken; and cilantro, chive, and parsley are wonderful additions to any Mexican dish. Many of us have added fresh mint leaves to our iced tea but have you ever tried steeping fresh mint for hot tea? Delicious!

Burley Clay pots come in many colors, sizes, and will fit any decor. Our favorite pots for an indoor herb garden are our Color Me Bright Pots with attached saucer. Other choices might be a Small Banded Cylinder, a Medium Welsh Pot or the Just Sayings pots. It’s best to plant each herb in it’s own pot. Mediterranean herbs like rosemary, thyme, and oregano like free-draining soil and careful watering whereas basil likes to be constantly moist.

When the winter months have passed, take your herbs outside. It will surely be time to repot them and let them stretch! Burley Clay has some really great patio planters! Check us out at Burley Pottery Online @ www.burleyclaystore.com.
